At page 91 of my book I have analysed the P08 and LP08 made by Mauser under French Control. In fact, from August 1945 to October 1947, Mauser started again the production of small arms under control of French army. August Weiss was the responsible of this production. About 3500 pistols were made. The P08 and LP08 production is mixed. French Army and Gendarmerie used these pistols. Concerning the numbering two ways have been described. Star followed by a three digits serial number and eagle/N usually followed by a four digits serial number.

With this receipt, the Major Sutternin received a P08 for 350 Francs.

The receipt is dated Oberndorf 7th December 1945

Please refer to my book for further information on this interesting matter.

The LP08 on the bottom is a Siamese contract made by Mauser in the 1936. The other two LP08 are made by Mauser under French control. Note that the Mauser banner is bigger in the French model. The chamber is undated.

Stock for LP08 made under French control. They are more similar to the Carbine one than to the Imperial one.
